Promoting Social Skills in children with autism using Minecraft® (PRISSAM) is a new approach that is specifically designed to make learning social skills interesting and fun for a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is hoped it will help children learn the necessary social skills and adopt them into their daily lives.

Children with autism spectrum disorder can play with alongside friends in the classroom environment. Alternatively they can play with children from other schools whilst maintaining face to face engagement through simultaneous use of video telephony software. Friendships developed in schools through Minecraft® can be carried into their home environments where build challenge homework can strengthen friendship bonds and further develop social skills.
